Il sito weekly standards apparteneva inizialmente a B. Adam Howell, che metteva a disposizione per quei designers che si dedicavano ai CSS ed in generale allo sviluppo basato sugli standards, una ottima risorsa su cui studiare ed ispirarsi.

Di seguito, a causa dei suoi impegni, Adam non era più in grado di gestire il sito e si prospettava una ingloriosa fine!

Nel gennaio 2005, una agenzia dell’Arizona (Forty Media) lo acquistò e decise di mettere su una sorta di concorso per il redesign del futuro weeklystandards!

Ricevettero numerosi designs fra cui anche il mio che… venne scelto come vincitore!

Il mio design è stato leggermente modificato, giustamente… sono dei designer anche loro, ma il modo in cui lo hanno fatto mi piace, lo hanno mantenuto pulito come era in origine!

Fixed size or liquid are the only way in wich you can build a layout? Probably not! A collegue, Alessandro Fulciniti, wrote a great article about a new possibility: progressive layout.
He shows how you can turn a CSS-based layout, fixed or liquid, into a progressive one. A progressive layout combines the advantages of both fixed and liquid because it has fixed size under and over certain resolutions, but it’s fluid between.

My design template wins the Weekly Standards redesign contest, no more words to say… only many thanks to James and all his colleagues at Forty Media!

Launched yesterday the CSS Reboot and I am impressed by the number of good redesigns shown. Overall I love the redesign of Benjamin Adam, really well designed and easy to the eyes. Cool job.
